The Zurich-Oerlikon-Gleis 9 platform expansion involved the remarkable relocation of the Gleis 9 building, a 6,200-tonne structure, in a groundbreaking project in Europe. The entire building was shifted 60 meters westward to create space for new railway tracks. This ambitious endeavor was part of the redevelopment plans for the former machine factory Oerlikon in Zurich, with the old management building making way for the evolving railway infrastructure.
